GameTech Systems Cleared
for Mississippi Play
RENO, Nev., Nov. 18 -- GameTech International, Inc., a leading supplier of electronic bingo equipment, announced today that all fixed-base electronic bingo units in Mississippi were cleared for use. GameTech voluntarily shut down its fixed- base electronic bingo units on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, as a precautionary measure while the company met with gaming officials to ensure the integrity of the Company's fixed-base bingo units after a former GameTech employee allegedly gaffed the Company's system to violate bingo regulations in Las Vegas. Prior to the shutdown, the fixed-based units in Mississippi represented approximately 5% of GameTech's overall company revenue. The Company's portable units, which make up the vast majority of electronic bingo units in operation around the country, were not affected by this action. "We are very pleased that the Mississippi Gaming Commission has approved all of our units for play after a very comprehensive analysis," said Clarence H. Thiesen, GameTech CEO. "We are pleased to be able to again provide our fixed based system to our charitable bingo customers in Mississippi."
